Oh, no - Here comes Ivan
Description
Article describes worries that Frances-damaged infrastructure won't hold up once Hurrican Ivan arrives. Power companies in the area worry that the high winds tonight and tomorrow will break off branches and push over trees, and that those trees will take powerlines with them. Around 24,000 homes lost power because of Frances, & more are expected to lose power from Ivan. The current damage estimate from Frances is $80 million. People living near bodies of water and in low-lying areas are being advised to prepare their homes and businesses for flooding before they evacuate. Residents who plan to stay are stocking up on supplies, like camping stoves, milk, and bread. A weather forecast accompanied by a graphic of Ivan's projected path is printed here. A picture of a man stacking sandbags in the doorway of his business is shown here. A section with safety tips for floods is also printed here.
