Title
Flooding Forces Evacuations Around WNC
Description
Article describes the evacuations of over a thousand people, due to fears of flooding from the recent storm. Shelters were set up in public buildings, like schools, churches, and fire stations for the evacuees. A diagram created by the Citizen-Times shows rainfall totals in different places of western north carolina. More reports of mass evacuations are printed here. Two pictures of the flooding accompany the article. The first, taken by Ewart Ball, depicts a camper trailer surrounded by murky water. The second, taken by Bob Scott, shows an inundated farm; its crops sticking out of the water.
