Front page article detailing the events of the flood on the 28th. The rain lasted from Friday evening to Saturday morning, with some places reporting around 4" of rain over the period. Evacuations were numerous and prevented any injuries related directly to flooding. Car accidents still occured. The day before, a large sum of money was awarded to farmers from the state to kickstart recovery efforts. A short weather report is printed here. Several of the evacuees lived in mobile homes. A tributary of the Swannanoa River caused extensive damage in Black Mountain. Candler has seen similar damage. Several bridges and roads are blocked. The Asheville chapter of the Red Cross has set up a shelter for those displaced. Rain totals are printed here.
