Description
Article describes damages from flooding caused by tropical storm Agnes. Some regions received up to 8" of rain during the storm. Mudslides and underwater roads pose a challenge to drivers. Evacuees of trailer parks--namely the one below the dam across the Cane River and Holly's Trailer Park--are expected to be able to return to their homes by noon today. The status of US highways in the region is printed. Some parts of Asheville, such as the municipal golf course, remain flooded. Many telephone lines, and some power lines have been knocked out. No car-related fatalities have been reported.
