Title
TVA Engineers to Study Flood Control Project
Description
Article describes how maps of areas hit hardest during the recent flood have been made, along with two proposed sites for flood control dams. Asheville and the TVA are working together to dicuss the construction of the dams at a yet-to-be determined date. According to the plan, one dam would be built at the north fork of the Swannanoa River, and the other would be built in Bee Tree Creek. If built according to plan, the dams would both remove the risk of flooding from the Swannanoa River valley, but also serve as reservoirs. It's also been suggested that the dams could be used for generating hydroelectric power.
