"Countless tens of thousands" of property damage has occurred, and a similar cost has arrived for the livestock killed in the disaster. Among the missing a Reverend and four people from Jackson County. The reverend's wife was one of the confirmed deaths. Three of the Jackson County missing were Albert McCall and his two children, who were last seen being washed away in their house. The house was last seen going over a waterfall. Damage in Bryson City alone is estimated to be over $100,000. Traffic has been restored on some roads, while others remain impassible. Efforts to get the newly-homeless back into their homes have been made. Several communities do not have drinkable water due to breaks in water mains. Four people have been confirmed missing and one confirmed dead in Cullowhee. Property damage in Buncombe county is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Much of this cost comes from needing to repair industrial machinery that was inundated with water. Street sewers in the city were reported damaged by the mayor, and were estimated to need 6 months to fix. Farmers near rivers lost most of their crops, and many secondary bridges were washed out.
