Flood Over; Things Back to Normal
Description
Front page article declaring the end of the flood. Train service has been fully restored, and the work to repair the county highways continues. False stories about every dam in the area are being spread as far as New York newspapers. A list of the area's dams and statements about their durability and lack of eventfulness are printed here, with one dam being chastised for not breaking. Much of the early reported damage from the flood was unfounded. The head of the local branch of the US Weather Bureau states that the cause of the rain was from a hurricane that hit Georgia. Despite high waters, many companies were and are still able to operate as usual. Which highways are passable and which ones aren't are detailed here. The golf course was not heavily damaged.
