Gecko Friend

Title
Gecko Friend
Description
As I was walking along Clingman Ave. toward the West Asheville/RiverLink Bridge, I spied this little gecko flitting around in some debris. I had never seen this species "in the wild." Intrigued, I watched the lizard go about its business for a few moments, then stuck out my hand wondering if it would approach me.
To my surprise the lizard climbed into my palm and I thought to myself, "perhaps this had been someone's pet."
I carried the gecko around as a companion on my walk for a little while until it became clear it wanted to be released, and I placed it back down in the spot I first saw it.
