Two days after the storm I took a long walk around the River Arts District to survey the damage. There were many people out standing along the West Asheville/RiverLink bridge doing the same.
I observed this Blue Heron feasting on small fish that were stranded in a large puddle that was created by the receding flood waters. I was glad to see that at least one creature was in some strange way benefitting from the disaster.
