Title
Swannanoa Flood Waters in Biltmore Village, 1940
Description
Flood waters cover a road, probably in Biltmore Village. A small gas station is flooded. One of seven black and white prints with matching 120 MM negatives donated Oct. 2010 by Anita Hall Danigelis. She found the prints among her father's family photos and assumes they were taken by him. Her father, Lawrence V. Hall, was born July 26, 1920 in Swannanoa, NC and died May 25, 1993 in Cincinnati, Ohio. An Asheville Times article of 08-14-1940, titled "Erratic Swannanoa Goes on Sudden Rampage, " includes pictures that were apparently taken at the same time as those of Mr. Hall, dating the photos to the previous day.
