Photo showing lumber pileup at the West Asheville Bridge as it was nearing completion, during the flood of 1910. Railway cars are visible in the right side of photo. The Asheville Gazette-News of August 31, 1910 says, "Portions of the new high bridge are gone, although the concrete part of the bridge is intact." At far left of the new bridge, the damage under one of the spans is evident.
