Area around West Asheville Bridge during 1916 flood
Description
Area around the West Asheville Bridge (1910) during the 1916 flood. The large debris jam up visible consists of lumber from the many lumber companies on the river (including Graham Lumber, Carolina Wood Products Co., Citizen's Lumber Company, and the Westall Lumber Co.) and from broken houses upstream. Other submerged buildings and rail cars in view. Area at left where the water widened out and did so much damage to the surrounding industries.
