Here in Asheville, Hendersonville Road is a major thoroughfare. Many people do not have cell service, including us. As we're trying to get to downtown, this is what we found here on Hendersonville Road. It basically looks like a huge lake. A lot of people have come here to take a look firsthand for themselves. And as we came from Long Shoals Road, we first came upon that flash flooding up there. The lights are not working. People are going through that water. Of course, that could be very dangerous. And then the results of ending up in water like this is what we see right here. This SUV was in the middle of Hendersonville Road with flash flood waters and those front windows fully down. Nearby flash flooding with sandbags failing to hold waters at a local Bank of America. The bank's road completely washed out with runoff. The water is over the parking lot. People visiting the town just going around to get out of where they were staying.

We're a little bit trapped right now. A bunch of us came down for a bachelor party and no power, no running water. All we have is beer.
Speaker 2:
It's basically tough for people that have small kids. Grocery store gas stations. It's hard to find anything right now.

We found people walking to grocery stores to get food. Emergencies are everywhere. This was a bird's eye shot of Biltmore Village with several feet of water extending along Biltmore Avenue. Trees bringing down power lines and obstructing roads all over Asheville. Drivers taking risks going through flash flooded areas just to get where they wanted to go. While some people are trying to get through Hendersonville Road, clearly here this is totally impassable. We haven't seen the owner of this car or the other car show up yet, but it could be hours before this water recedes. Reporting off Hendersonville Road, Kimberly King, News 13.
