Vivianette Ortiz is the Director of Latinos Aventureros, an outdoor advocacy group for Latino youth in North Carolina. Vivianette describes her experiences stepping in as a resource distributor for Latino communities in the rural areas in WNC. She describes her organization going door to door checks, serving as a bilingual interpreter alongside trusted community leaders. She makes connections between her experiences here in WNC and her outreach efforts during Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
