Title
Written accounts from Photos from Helene exhibition
Description
Selected anonymous written accounts collected from a map displayed during the Photos from Helene exhibition, which was on view at Little Animals, 31 Carolina Lane, downtown Asheville, from September 26 - October 12, 2025.
The exhibition featured hundreds of photographs salvaged from flood-impacted areas by Taylor Schenker, as well as accounts of stories of people reunited with their precious family photos. On a back wall, visitors were invited to write their own recollections on postcards and pin these to a large map. Gallery owner Jeffrey Kinzel collected selections from these map pins for donation to the library.
Physical copies are held at Buncombe County Special Collections, Pack Memorial Library, Asheville.
