Title
Willow Stewardship for Ecological Lessons in Resilience: Role of Willow Livestaking by Local Land Stewards in Hurricane Helene Recovery
Description
This photographic essay is important in documenting recovery and restoration efforts in the aftermath of Helene, highlighting the efforts of local land stewards and ecological effects of willow livestaking to our larger ecological disposition. To me, as an active participant in these efforts, I found connection and healing to my community and profound understandings of resilience work in climate disaster, as I believe others share too. I am proud to present this project as a dedicated student and advocate for revitalizing ecological knowledge systems and community stewardship. This essay includes photographs in collaboration with Pete Erb of Warren Wilson College.
